  • Ricebowl Fusion had a very nice touch of class. Good food at very reasonable prices. Our waiter was very attentive, my water was refilled 30 seconds after it was empty for example. I will go back many times as it was much better than I had hoped.

While the quality of service was great, I wish I could say the same about the food. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap and was underwhelmed. Sure, it came in a real stone bowl and had the standard array of veggies that one expects... but it tasted boring. I ordered mine with shrimp instead of beef and, for the extra $3.00, got a total of 5 shrimp. It looked like 10 but, upon further inspection, I realized that they were 5 shrimp sliced lengthwise. C'mon guys, really? Also, as someone who is mostly vegetarian, it really bothered me that it would cost $3.00 extra to substitute tofu for beef (that's why I went with the shrimp - I figured if I was paying extra, I should go for the luxury ingredients). Really, though, you're going to charge $3 extra for tofu, the cheapest protein ingredient imaginable (okay, maybe after beans, but you know what I mean). I found it insulting that it was cheaper to go for beef and I think other vegetarians are also likely upset by this. We get shafted out of most menu options as it is, and now you're going to charge us extra for cheaper ingredients? I have been to Rice Bowl before for business meetings and remembered that it was mediocre but filling. This was the first time I went on a social occasion and paid for the meal myself. It is also the last.

Went yesterday for my first time. Ordered the Korean BBQ short ribs. The presentation was nice as it came on a sizzling plate. Unfortunately, that was the only good thing about it. Paid 4$ extra to get the 12oz portion as opposed to the 8oz portion. The meat was the poorest quality and fattiest beef I've ever had. There was maybe only 4oz of actual edible meat (so, by my calculations, I actually paid $4.50 per ounce of edible beef), and no substantial side other than two slices of roasted red pepper, kimchee and sprouts. Was disappointed that I had consumed an extremely small quantity of very fatty food. I ate everything edible on my plate, and had to warm up left overs when i got home because I was still hungry. Way over priced for such poor quality and a stingy portion. It's unfortunate to think that a restaurant believes that it is saving money by giving small portions and buying cheap ingredients. It is my opinion that they are losing money by trying to save a buck on quality ingredients and decent-sized portions, since it discourages repeat business.
