  • Cool place to go and spend an evening. Good food and good people all around. I'll be back. Go for a walk along the river after supper and through the greenhouses.

  • cute. I have never tried any of their food but I have been to berry barn atleast 100 times... lol. Its fun with a nice view. Sometimes there is not much things to do then enjoy the view but it is still a great place to spend time with your family.

"No Strollers Allowed" Sign Sets Theme For NOT Welcoming Families With Toddlers" Three families, each having both a toddler around 3 and a 1-year old, made a special occasion of having breakfast together at the Berry Barn while hosting family members from Spain. 14 of us (including six kids three years of age and under) hiked from the parking lot to the Barn to dine only to be greeted by a sign permanently printed in bold letters above the door "No Strollers Allowed". This set the theme for a series of unwelcoming experiences that had all of us believing they would have preferred we stayed home. Within minutes of being seated, with the restaurant still half empty (around 10am), the older lady with short brown hair (whom I believe is the owner) publicly scolded us, in a loud and angry tone, as we began to shift 3 tables so we could dine together as intended. She would not allow it and our only options were to break the group or don't dine there all....an we were a 45-minute return trip from Saskatoon city centre with hungry kids. Admittedly, the food was tasty but they did mess up our order. The $12 single waffle is smaller than the server led us to believe. And the $4 "side order" of sausage was a single stubby sausage about 3" long (and not to mention that it was served cold to the touch),. I thought the single sausage was a mistake, too, but you should have seen the uncomfortable look I received for asking. Whenever one of our toddlers dropped a toy, or raised their voice above the table conversation, you could feel an icy-cold stare across the room. I caught several intentional glances from the owner that suggested her disapproval, like she had never experienced a few toddlers before. And as the place began to fill up with the brunch crowd, about a half-hour after our food arrived, it was clear she was ready for us to move on (and out as soon as possible). At one point she even nudged my chair, (I didn’t even know she was standing behind me) and impatiently told me "you have to move" so they could seat a table of two behind us. The other patrons even gave me a puzzled look, wondering what was up with that.. The lack of friendliness, and the owner’s over-the-top rude behaviour, led to a conversation amongst us adults about why they would promote this place as family-friendly (see their website) when they clearly did not welcome normal toddler behaviour inside the restaurant. And then someone suggested the obvious "No Strollers Allowed" sign above the front door is their way of saying what can't be said more directly without fallout from the public. I don't know if The Berry Barn is under new ownership, or if the owner just became bitter and has no use for kids, but it is highly unlikely any of us will return—at least not while our toddlers are still behaving like toddlers. There were unnecessary stresses places on us by this woman who was running the place and based on her actions she is definitely not deserving of our business.. There are many family-oriented restaurants right in Saskatoon that I would recommend as they are better suited for those with young families, and everyone will leave full and satisfied. So for those whom share our demographic, you would be better served somewhere else....almost anywhere else.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the environment is so peaceful and relaxing. Our meal was served in a timely manner and our waiter was courteous and accommodating. The food was good and we enjoyed browsing in the gift shop. I was visiting from Quebec and would recommend it if you haven't had the pleasure!
